10/08/17 String Bean Note

Am not trading on the stalls at the moment but still busy sewing at home. Just finished a little piece of work entitled "In the Welsh Valley" of a woman in national costume. Think it will look nice on the front of a small bag made with the soft plain grey fabric. Will get some cards printed from it first for family and friends.

Also on the go is a quilt for home....favourite style with lots of small pieces using fabric from my scrap bag.

Just finished a simple little picture of fabric quilts on a washing line with basket, lots of tiny pieces of pretty material, some in the pink quilt is from old Welsh quilt pieces that I bought when back home in Wales.

Popped in a little peg bag on the washing line.

Just completed my new picture. Its a wedding scene with the bride and bridegroom entering the church. I was able to raid my pretty fabric stash quite a lot to make up the scenery and flowers. Throughly enjoyed making this.

22nd Jauary 2017

Have updated "Village Church" picture today, adding a little more colour to it. Soon to be printed into cards ready for stall events this year.

Put some colour round the church door and some blossom on the tree, found a nice piece of soft red fabric in my stash of bits! Can re-cycle and use very small bits of material for my String Bean pictures.

First post for the new year 2017

Have over Christmas been doing a picture of a 1940's lady in a shop. Finished it this morning so will take it to the printers soon to get some cards done. I've called the picture "Ida".

Sitting in my sewing room looking out over rooftops at the rain this morning, going to catch up with some sewing this afternoon and sorting out of fabrics.

Did the Tea Cup Fair at Aston-on-Trent on Sunday just gone, nice venue and lovely stalls. Had some very nice comments about my cards and pictures.

Starting next picture now which may be 1940's inspired, never quite know how ideas will turn out which is half the fun!

Have had a good week and made a picture. Its loosely based on the main church in the village where I live, lots of scraps of material used in rich autumn colours.

Currently at the printers to be made into greetings cards ready for the Tea Cup Fair at Aston on Trent, Derby this Sunday.
